Administrative SystemsRalph Krusey joined the Marysville Police Department in February 1999 after building a solid career that spanned 26 years with the Los Angeles Police Department, followed by a move to the Pacific Northwest to work as a drug trafficking investigator with the Northwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) in Tukwila.
Commander Krusey oversees the Administrative Systems Division. This division includes Office Operations, which is responsible for Records and Property Management, the Communications Center, which dispatches emergency 911 calls and Youth Services, which deploys two School Resource Officers into secondary schools within the Marysville School District. In addition, other duties include that of Budget Manager, Public Information Officer, Recruitment and Hiring, Internal Affairs, Training, Research and Development, Civil Service Representative, Management/Labor Relations. The Administrative Systems Division plays an important role in the overall operations of the department, as well as, the services provided to the citizens of Marysville. Commander Krusey and his staff strongly believe that serving the citizens of Marysville with professionalism and integrity is of great importance as they strive to meet the needs of the community. During his 26 years in the LAPD, he spent eighteen years in supervisory and management positions. He carried numerous duty assignments, including management of a street-level narcotics unit and a jail with a capacity to house 300 inmates. He worked as a Patrol Watch Commander, and was one of the LAPD's first Community-based Police Coordinators. He also managed a police community youth facility and substation, a gang intervention program, and supervised a police community volunteer organization. Cmdr. Krusey received a Certificate of Equivalent Basic Training from the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission in 1997 and holds an Executive Certificate. Krusey and his wife, Christine, have three children, a son that is a Federal Way Police Officer, a daughter that is a Federal Way Police Support Officer and a son who is a Sergeant with the California Highway Patrol.
